In uncertain and contrary times such as 2020, I think trends have polarized as well. There is the ever-present off the grid, back to your roots trend. On the other hand, there are those optimistic individuals who look forever forward, towards a future that is bright and shiny.
Metallic adornments brilliantly embellish classic styling. My intent in creating the Shiny Objects Collection was to take New Zealand wool textures that are easy to work with and empower designers to easily pop in a dash of flash via one of our five ECONYL® Nylon Metallics (Opaque Silver, Charcoal, Copper, Rose Gold, & Gold). They are interchangeable.
Delos is proud to offer ECONYL® 100% nylon, which includes these five key metallics that are as lustrous as they are durable. ECONYL® meets commercial wear specifications for maximum LEED credits, as it is 100% regenerated from recovered ocean fishnets and reclaimed carpets.
Traditionally true metallic yarns were challenging to work with. They are slippery and pull out of tufted floor coverings, especially when stronger vacuums are present. “Shiny” is usually synonymous with additional upkeep and lack of durability. Silk is not only more costly, but this fiber struggles with UV sun-fade resilience, crushing, and water staining, as does its lower end and less costly substitutes: viscose, spun bamboo, and TENCEL.
Today, you can have it ALL: custom floor coverings, American crafted, recycled content, and metallic shine. So shine on! Don’t be
afraid to sparkle a little brighter.
